Communications

The communications committee of Colfax Elementary School PTO is responsible for ensuring effective communication between the school, parents, teachers, and the community:


  • Social Media – Publicizes events, communicates to Colfax Elementary School community via social media (Year-round)


  • Website – Publicizes events, creates and posts content on PTO website (Year-round) 

Fundraising

The fundraising committee of Colfax Elementary School PTO plays a vital role in supporting the school's educational programs and activities. Key responsibilities of the fundraising committee are as follows:


  • Planning and Organizing Fundraisers:
    • Develop a calendar of fundraising events for the school year.
    • Plan and execute various fundraising activities such as bake sales, auctions, fun runs, or product sales.
    • Ensure events align with the school's goals and community values.


  • Budgeting and Financial Management:
    • Set fundraising goals and create a budget for each event.
    • Manage funds raised and ensure accurate record-keeping.
    • Coordinate with the treasurer to ensure transparency and accountability.


  • Marketing and Promotion:
    • Develop promotional materials and strategies to encourage participation and donations.
    • Utilize social media, newsletters, and flyers to promote events.


  • Community Engagement:
    • Build relationships with local businesses for sponsorships or donations.
    • Engage with parents, teachers, and the broader community to increase involvement and support.


  • Volunteer Coordination:
    • Recruit and organize volunteers to help with events.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure successful event execution.


  • Evaluation and Reporting:
    • Assess the success of each fundraiser and gather feedback for improvement.
    • Report outcomes to the PTO board and the school community.


  • Compliance and Ethics:

Programs

The programs committee is responsible for organizing and coordinating educational and extracurricular activities that enrich the students' learning experience.


  • Program Development and Planning:
    • Identify and plan educational programs and activities that align with the school's curriculum and goals.
    • Organize assemblies, workshops, and cultural events that enhance students' learning experiences.
    • Coordinate after-school programs and clubs that offer additional learning opportunities.


  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
    • Develop a budget for each program and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Seek funding and grants to support program initiatives.
    • Coordinate with the treasurer to track expenses and manage program funds.


  • Collaboration with Teachers and Staff:
    • Work with teachers and school staff to align programs with classroom learning objectives.
    • Support teachers by providing resources and assistance for classroom activities and field trips.


  • Community and Parental Involvement:
    • Encourage parent and community participation in programs and events.
    • Collaborate with community organizations to bring additional resources and expertise to the school.
